Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology

The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) is a Pan-African research-based Institution located in Arusha, Tanzania and one among the two regional institutions of science and technology.  Other universities are African University of Science and Technology (AUST) in Abuja-Nigeria, and the International Institute for Water and the Environment (2iE) in Ouagadouguo in Burkina Faso. The goal of NM-AIST is to catalyze the development of world-class SET through the production of high–quality scientists and engineers in East Africa and Sub-Sharan Africa to stimulate economic growth and employment creation. The Business Model guiding the core businesses of NM-AIST is operationalizing a 5D mode focusing on Research and Innovation; Postgraduate Training and Skills Development; Outreach and Community Engagement; Incubation Management; and Commercialization.
